I Heart Revolution Starry Eyed Glitter Palette – Review

I Heart Revolution Starry Eyed Palette £10

Hi guys, I feel like I say this every time I write a post, but Revolution have brought out a new Palette – actually a set of three.

The three I Heart Revolution Glitter palettes come in the shades; Fortune Seeker (Purple), One True Love (Pink), and Starry Eyed (Blue), which is the one I’m reviewing today.

Testing them in Superdrug, they were all amazing and very highly pigmented, however, all but the one I bought (Starry Eyed), contained Carmine and were therefore not Vegan. I was really disappointed as the packaging is amazing as is the quality of the product inside. It would have been great if everyone could try out this range.

Talking about packaging, I kinda feel like the main reason you would buy this over any of the other Revolution eyeshadow palettes is the glittery front panel. Like a snow globe  for your makeup bag, I swear I have spent way too long watching the ultra sparkly glitter. Really not a go to for makeup in a rush lol.

It truly is a beautiful, shimmery palette on the inside and out. All shades have massive pigment payoff, except for the shade in the middle on the bottom row (It is very close to my own skin tone). Swatching however, was a bit of a nightmare:

The shimmers in this palette are too intense to take a half decent swatch picture in daylight. So blinding, they were making my camera go crazy and the colours didn’t look at all like real life. The pictures here are the most accurate representation of the colours I could get.

As you can see, even single one of the shades is a shimmer. I personally found it okay to get a good eye look out of the shades but I know many people like to use matte shades for their transition. The dark blue shade on the top right is probably the best of the pans for that.

So easy to use and blend, the formula was a dream to use and built up very quickly and layered well. I didn’t use any fancy primer, just Revolutions Conceal and Define in the shade 0.5.

This picture was actually taken about five hours after application and it wasn’t creasing when I took it off a few hours later. I can’t wait to try out the other more coppery shades.

All in all, I would recommend this palette to anyone who loves bold colours, highly pigmented shades, and just having a bit of fun with their makeup. Although I would probably mix it with a few transition shades from another palette next time.

5/5
