Revolution Skincare Review – Hyaluronic Acid and Caffeine Solution

Revolution Skincare - 2% Hyaluronic Acid

Hey guys and welcome to the first ever post on MyCrueltyFreeWorld.

I thought i’d start with something that has been getting loads of buzz on Instagram over the past month or so. Revolution Skincare.

As a massive follower of all things Makeup Revolution, I was super excited when i heard they were releasing a full range of skincare at a really great price (and more than a little bit similar to The Ordinary!).

I picked up a fair few of the items when they were released on the Superdrug website… along with a few highlighters because I’m weak!!

2% Hyaluronic Acid  – £6

Superdrug Revolution

Revolution Skincare - 2% Hyaluronic Acid, Bottle.

I have been waiting ages to buy something like this, a great Hyaluronic Acid to use after my Pixi Glow Tonic. No added extra active ingredients or massive price tag,  I think i must of used this product only a few hours after opening the delivery.

After a month of using this daily I found a lot of benefits, but annoyingly it’s not quite perfect. My skin felt smooth and really well hydrated – especially around my nose and chin were I tend to get dryer patches. Most importantly of all, I did not break out in spots like have done with many products like this. The packaging is also pretty luxe, coming in a frosted glass bottle with glass dropper – almost completely recyclable!

The only problem I can really find, and it will definitely annoy some more than others, is the stickiness that it leaves behind on your skin. It goes after a few hours or if applying makeup on top, but it can take a bit of getting used to.

5% Caffeine Solution + Hyaluronic Acid – £5.99

Superdrug Revolution

5% Caffeine Solution + Hyaluronic Acid

I might not be really worried about under eye wrinkles just yet (in my late-ish 20s), but I do suffer with a lot of under eye creasing from foundation and concealer along with the area looking dry when I use powder to set it.

The consistency of this product is very similar to the Hyaluronic Acid above ^, the best description I could give is that its very similar to the syrup you get in a can of peaches, but not quite as sticky!

Within a few days of use, my under eye area felt smoother, softer, and makeup applied a lot easier. Powder now looks much less cakey and I’m starting too find I actually need a lot less under eye makeup to begin with. I have only been using it on my under eyes, while using my usual Vitamin E eye cream on my lids. (review for that coming soon)

Having used this serum for over a month now and my bottle still looks practically full, and thats not surprising  considering one small drop can cover both my under eyes. I imagine it will last me a pretty long time making the initial quite high price tag seem much better value for money.
