My 2022 Rolling Project Pan - Finale

I cannot believe we have made it to the end of this project! Back at the start of January, I thought I was maybe taking on too big of a task, but I’ve made it to the finish line, and I am so so proud of what I’ve achieved. It might not be as much as I had initially hoped, but it has really taught me a lot about my yearly usage and how much I really need to buy.

I’m doing things ever so slightly differently in this blog post, as I’m going to also be posting comparisons from my first update to now. Hopefully, that will really show you what I’ve done so far.

Superdrug B. Brow Styler “03 Brown - Discontinued

I used this brow pencil all the time over Christmas and new year, and it shows. While I didn’t manage to finish the product within the year as I thought, I’m a few months shy of it and can see it being done by the end of February, maybe March. There was a time when it first broke that I thought I’d never get this far and would probably end up throwing it away, so I’m happy that I stuck with it. Unfortunately, it still weighs 8.6g.

NYX Retractable Lip Liner “Nude” - Discontinued

As I said in my last update, this was not my priority during December, as I wanted to use some of my more festive lip combos. It did, however, get the occasional use, and I am happy with how little is left. I will have this finished in the first few months of 2023, but for now, it still weighs 4.2g.

Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pencil “Black Noir” - £12

Last update for this eye pencil, and I’m kinda glad to be done with it for now. As much as I’ve enjoyed using it, and as awesome as it is, I’ve not really been wearing eyeliner for the past few weeks, and it’s started to feel like more of a chore to get use out of it. I’ll probably come back to it in a few months once I get back into it again, but for now, it weighs 5.1g, so I used 0.1g last month and 0.8g over the length of the project.

Barry M Flawless Chisel Cheeks Contour Creams - £7.99 - Contour

Can’t say I’m not happy to be at the end of the line with this bronzer/contour stick - I’m not getting rid of it, but I want to start enjoying using it again, and I think some time away could do that. I have acquired far too many cream bronzers over the past year, and it’ll be good to circle through some of them. It still weighs 24.6g, but I have used 0.7g this year.

Lottie London Ready Set! Go Setting Powder “True Translucent” - £6.95

As I wore makeup a lot more in December, I also used my setting powder a lot more, and the results show in how far down my new tally mark is. I didn’t quite reach my target of finishing it before the year’s end, but it will be done in the first few months of 2023. It now weighs 39g, so I’ve used 1.4g this month and 13.3g over the whole year.

e.l.f Mint Melt Cooling Face Primer - £8.00

Another product I used every time I wore makeup in December. I still love it a lot, and I’m happy to see how far it’s going down. Who knows how long it will take me to finish, but at least I know I’ll be enjoying it until the end. It now weighs 38.6g, so I’ve used 2g this month, and 13.3g this year.

Ofra Mini Highlighter “Rodeo Drive” - £13.95

Still chugging along with this highlighter, and I am starting to see a change in the centre. Hard to see in the comparison picture up above, but on the side picture below, you can see what I mean. As I’ve said before, I will be carrying on with this into the new year and hopefully hitting pan on it very soon. It still weighs 6.1g, and in total, I’ve used 0.5g this year.

E.l.f Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder “St Lucia” - £5

Most exciting update of this whole post, maybe even the entire year - I hit pan in my bronzer! It may have taken nearly a whole year of use, and it may only be in one pan, but I am so happy with what I’ve achieved. This will now be taking a break from the project, but I can see it probably making a return in the future, as I would really like to see it done. It now weighs 69.1g, so I’ve used 0.2g this month and 1.7g throughout the project.

NYX Lip Lingerie - French Maid - £7.00

And finally, this is the last time you will see this liquid lipstick. While I’ve enjoyed having it in the project, and I’m glad to have gotten so much good use out of it, I doubt I’ll be putting a liquid lipstick back into my rotation anytime soon. My preferences have changed over the years, and I now prefer something a bit less drying. It now weighs 23.5g, so I used 0.1g this month and 0.8g over the year - not quite the 1/4 of the product I was looking for, but very close.

Wrapping Things Up

This year of using my makeup has taught me a lot about my collection. It’s made me appreciate what I’ve got and also to realise how little I use up. My purchasing habits have been a bit out of control for the past few years, and I’m slowly trying to change and take accountability for that. Having a well-loved, well-used collection that is ever so slightly smaller, is my aim going forward, and I’m hoping next year’s project pan will help me do that.
