My 2022 Rolling Project Pan - August Update

August already, and I’m now starting to wonder if I can finish some of these products before the end of the year. So far, I have used up two (a setting spray and mini primer), but maybe getting to four or five before the end of the project would be doable. Anyway, here is this month’s progress.

Superdrug B. Brow Styler “03 Brown - Discontinued

Somehow in the heat of the last few months, the brow pencil seems to have stuck back together. I’m sure it will break apart again as the weather cools down. In the meantime, I’ve managed to get a better tally mark on my chart, so I’m happy. It still weighs 8.6g, and I don’t expect that to change any time soon.

NYX Retractable Lip Liner “Nude” - Discontinued

Another good month with this lip liner, and I am now absolutely convinced this will be done before the end of the year - I’m already starting to think about what I can add in its place! My hope is to have it done by the start of December, so I can switch to a nice festive Red. It now weighs 4.3g, so I have used 0.1g this month.

Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pencil “Black Noir” - £12

I won’t bore you by saying again how much I love this pencil. I would honestly keep using this forever if it wasn’t for the mountains of other eyeliners I have in my stash, especially the liquid ones I need to use up. Progress is slow but steady, and I’m still enjoying using it, so that’s the main thing. It now weighs 5.3g, so I used 0.1g this month.

Barry M Flawless Chisel Cheeks Contour Creams - £7.99 - Contour

All of a sudden, significant changes have happened to my little contour stick. I’m not sure whether I’ve been using it more or if the heat over recent months has maybe dried the product out, but either way, I’ll take it. It now weighs 24.6g, so I’ve somehow used 0.4g this month.

Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist Mini - £8.00

A nice steady, successful month with this spray. The spray button still hasn’t broken and also hasn’t gotten any worse since it initially started to tilt, so I think I might get to the end without it breaking (fingers crossed) - almost halfway! It now weighs 38.1g, so I’ve used 5.4g this month.

Lottie London Ready Set! Go Setting Powder “True Translucent” - £6.95

Still no new tally mark, but I’m convinced it will happen next month. I definitely used it more than last time, and I think that shows in the new weights. I have another twenty-one powders in my collection (that is stupidly excessive), so having at least one finished this year will be welcome. It now weighs 44.9g, so I’ve used 0.9g this month.

e.l.f Mint Melt Cooling Face Primer - £8.00

I’m not sure how good a comparison these pictures are as they’ve been taken from slightly different angles, but it is slowly emptying, and I’m still loving it. Honestly, if you love the Milk Hydro Grip Primer, any of these e.l.f gripping primers, are just as good and are a fraction of the price. It now weighs 46.3g, so I’ve used 1.1g this month.

Ofra Mini Highlighter “Rodeo Drive” - £13.95

I have no words anymore. I’m still using this every time I put on makeup, but it’s slow going. There’s a nice big dip in the middle now which, is hard to take a picture of but encouraging. I would just love to hit pan before the end of the year. It now weighs 6.1g, so I’ve used 0.1g this past month.

E.l.f Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder “St Lucia” - £5

Looking at my stats, I don’t think I’ll have even used a quarter of this compact by the end of the year, but that’s something at least. The biggest thing stopping me from using this up quicker is the level of pigmentation, I have to use such a light hand with the bronzer (my own fault for not buying the right shade), so it’s just not going down as quickly as it possibly could have. It now weighs 69.7g, so I used 0.1g this month.

NYX Lip Lingerie - French Maid - £7.00

An even bigger window is appearing in this liquid lipstick, and I am so happy about it. I think most people are moving away from liquid lipstick, and I’m no different; it’s much more useful to me as a liquid blush, and I’ve used it several times this month for that very purpose. It now weighs 24.0g, so I’ve used 0.1g this month.

Goals For Next Month

Of course, I would love to have a big pan update next month, but it doesn’t feel too likely. A new tally mark for some of the products would be good enough - especially on the face powder. I still think I can finish four of these items by the end of the year, and you never know, I might even have a few surprises along the way.
