My 2023 Rolling Project Pan - April Update

April, and as promised, I have three empties that I will be rolling out of the project. It feels so good to already have exceeded last year’s total, and we’re only a third of the way through the year. I can only hope my project pan keeps up this momentum, because it’s feeling really fun at the moment.

Superdrug B. Brow Styler “03 Brown - Discontinued

And the brow pencil is done. If you’d have asked me in January 2022 if I would still have been using this pencil in March 2023, I would have said you were crazy. Either way, it shows me just how long it takes to use one of these up - and it should make me think about adding any unnecessary stuff into my collection. It’s final weight was still 8.6g.

e.l.f Mint Melt Cooling Face Primer - £8.00

Excuse my rubbish nails in the new pictures, but I think I can actually see a bit of progress between the two images. Still enjoying this primer, although I would like to give some of my others more of a chance. At the rate it’s going, I could see it being a few more months before I can see the end. It now weighs 33.6g, so I’ve used 2.3g this month.

e.l.f Halo Glow Liquid Filter - Shade 1 - £14.00

The window in this liquid filter is now visible even when the doe foot is inside. I’m not sure exactly how much has gone, but it’s not hard to get any out so I’m imagining it’s still at least two-thirds full. I put this product in the project knowing it would be a long stretch, but I’m happy to see my first signs of progress. It now weighs 131.8g, so I’ve used 1.4g this month.

Barry M Fresh Face Foundation - £7.99

The journey I’m on with this foundation has become a bit of a long slog. While I’m using this all the time, and I know that a fair amount is being used, it never seems to translate into progress on the pictures. It’s disheartening, and making me want to give up, but I will keep pushing on. It felt like the brow pencil was never ending, but I manage to achieve my goal. It now weighs 30g, so I’ve used 0.7g this month.

e.l.f Hydrating Camo Concealer - Fair Rose - £6.00

I don’t like this concealer. Back when I first got it, it was okay, but I’ve since found other formulas I like better. I do however, love how quickly this is going, and I would be done with this even quicker if it looked nice as a foundation (it really doesn’t!). Not holding out too much hope that it will be done before the halfway point of the project, but definitely the back end of the year. It now weighs 29g, so I’ve used 0.4g this month.

Uoma By Sharon C Flawless IRL Bronzer “Shady” - £8.50

Nice little dip going on in this cream bronzer pan. Having gotten much more familiar with the product over the past few months, I’m starting to like it. Okay, it’s not the easiest cream bronzer to work with but it’s a good drugstore alternative to some very expensive high end brands offerings and it dries down to a powder finish. My aim is just to hit pan, so I can see this being rolled out in the next few months. It now weighs 45.8g, and I’ve used 0.3g this month.

Lottie London Ready Set! Go Setting Powder “True Translucent” - £6.95

The second empty product this month, yay! It took a very long time for me to finish this powder, far longer than I ever imagined it could. I tried to get every last drop I could out of the pot, but eventually nothing more would come out, unfortunately it seems the sifter is glued in and there was no way in without smashing the whole thing. All that being said, I think I got my monies worth and I am ready to move on. It now weighs 36.3g, so I’ve used 0.9g this month and 16g since I put it into the project last January - which is pretty good considering it’s only supposed to contain 15g.

Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer - £14.99

I don’t think any real visible progress has been made from last month. It’s a big pan and I tend to just swirl my brush across the entire surface so it could be a while before it starts to wear down. It’s sheerer than my bronzer last year, so I feel it could look very different by the end of the year. It now weighs 63g, so I’ve used 0.4g this month.

Ofra Mini Highlighter “Rodeo Drive” - £13.99

Fifteen months of use, almost exclusively using this as my highlighter and I still haven’t hit pan. It’s a mini! I have so many highlighters in my collection and I haven’t even used one up in the past year. At least the bit of different texture in the pan is expanding, I’ve put another picture of it down below from a better angle. It still weighs 5.9g.

NYX Retractable Lip Liner “Nude” - Discontinued

And my third empty product of the month didn’t come as a surprise. After fifteen months of consistent use I can finally say that I have finished a lip liner. As great as it feels, I’ll be very glad to get back to using a good mixture of my collection. I’ll probably start panning another before the end of the year is out though, so watch this space! It still weighs 4.2g, and I’ve used 0.3g across the entirety of its life in the projects.

Tarte H2o Gloss Lip Gloss “Hang Ten” Mini - £6.66

No visible change on this lip gloss but I know it won’t be long before I need to take the stopper out. I can’t believe it’s taking so long, but I have no doubt it will be finished up sooner or later. It now weighs 11.2g, so I’ve used 0.2g this month.

Products I’m Rolling In

17. Perfect Finish Translucent Powder - £3.50

I’ve decided to replace the Lottie London powder with another one from my collection. It’s pretty new, I only bought it in 2022, but as it’s so small (only 5g) I think it could be used up pretty quickly. Even though it looks nearly empty this powder has never been used, so I’ll be forming my opinion of it through the project. It’s starting weight is 38.8g

Iconic London Prep-Set-Glow Setting Spray “Original” - £24.00

This setting spray was bought in 2019 and it hadn’t even been opened until December last year. I’ve grown to like it and as I’ve got another one in my collection, so it would be great to use it up while it’s still good to use. It’s starting weight is 155g.

Goals For Next Month

I don’t think I’ll be rolling anything out for the next few months so I’m just going to be happy with progress. Hitting pan on the highlight would be great, but I’ll be happy with anything.
