My “No Buy/Low Buy” Journey – May to August 2021 - Plus Product Empties!!

I’ve been slacking on blog posts this year (I’m formulating a plan for 2022 already), and this post, in particular, is very late. So enough with the faffing around, let’s get on with my purchases.

May 2021

May Purchases: REN Clearcalm Clarifying Clay Cleanser, REN Summer Limited Edition Daily AHA Tonic, REN Clearcalm Replenishing Gel Cream, REN Evercalm Cleanser Gel, REN Overnight Glow Dark Spot Cream, REN Clearcalm Non-Drying Spot Treatment,

Not a massive month in terms of items, but still very expensive. I love REN skincare and took full advantage of their sale that month. The cleansing gel was a gift with purchase and actually looks as if it will be really good. The Urban Decay Naked Wild West palette was bought with my Boots points when it was on offer.

June 2021

Planet Revolution Revolutionary Solar Marble Eyeshadow Palette, XX Revolution Cloud Blush & Lip Tint Duo “Wave”, Planet Revolution Colour Pot Lip & Cheek Tint “Coral Pop”, Bondi Sands Lip Balm “Juicy Watermelon”, Planet Revolution Multi-Use Colour Cr
Milk Makeup Glossy Glow Set, Iconic London Sheer Bronze “Beach Vibes”, Milk Makeup Mini Lip + Cheek, Uoma Black Magic Carnival Metallic Lipstick “Trinidad”, Uoma Badass Iconic Matte Lipstick “Tina”, Olaplex No7 Bonding Oil, Pixi Makeup Fixing Mix
Barry M Green Origin Nail Paint “Down To Earth”, Barry M Hi Vis Neon Nail Paint “Amber Warning”, Nutmeg Sun Spray SPF 50, Garnier Ambre Solaire Anti Dark Spot & Anti-Pollution Super uv, Wild Deodorant and refills.

June was a big month for purchases - some I now look back and regret (Planet Revolution, mainly), but a few have become absolute staples.

I have officially fallen in love with Wild Deodorant. It’s plastic-free, works better than some others I’ve tried, and they come out with really interesting limited edition scents (I’m currently using “Pine Needles”, which I love).

The Garnier SPF is perfect for my skin, layers well under makeup and doesn’t leave a greasy residue. It may be my new favourite.

July 2021

Happy that it’s all on one picture, but still a bit ridiculous. Foundations all came from Beauty Bay during their big sale - I managed to get the Uoma one for under £10! Almost everything else is from a Cult Beauty Box that I shared with my sister. I’m also very happy to say that both of the Child’s Farm Body Lotions have been used up and will feature soon in my empties!

August 2021

Garnier and e.l.f, my two favourite brands of 2021, and in August, they were all I bought. Haven’t used the body lotion or SPF’s yet, but they are all in my stash, ready to go once I’ve used up a few more things. Love the putty bronzers - probably one of the best things I’ve tried all year. Overall, I was actually pretty happy with this haul.

Beauty Empties

As always, in one of these updates, I used a hand cream. Superdrug ones are always good quality and value, but I’ll be honest, I’m getting a bit fed up with them. Got a fair few still in my collection, but I don’t think I’ll be buying any more.

Dr Organic Tea Tree Deodorant, The Body Shop Drops of Youth Youth Fresh Emulsion.

Liked both of these but will not repurchase. I’ve found that deodorant is something I can easily switch to plastic-free with Wild, so I would be a fool not to. The SPF was nice enough, but not high enough protection and expensive - I’m much preferring the Garnier.

Nothing too exciting with this little lot. I love The Body Shop masks, and these single-use samples were nice. Finally got around to finishing my Revolution Skincare Niacinamide - it was really nice to use and worked well on my skin. I have since repurchased (in later months).

Botanics All Bright Micellar Cleansing Solution, Barry M Wet Set Quick Dry Top Coat.

Love this micellar water - although I am getting more into actually washing my face with a cleanser. I think the Botanics one is my favourite, although, story of my life, it appears to have been discontinued.
I’m very proud of this empty nail varnish. My first ever! Okay, it’s just a top coat, but I am still ecstatic.

Dr Organic Tea Tree Deodorant, Superdrug Vitamin E Nourishing Eye Cream.

Already spoken about this deodorant, so I’ll just say I’m happy to have another out of my collection. This eye cream is a staple that I keep going back to (I even scraped out the packet to get every last drop). I have several more in my stash and will probably buy more in the future.

Total:

Up until the end of August 2021, I had used fifteen products with a monetary value of £84.77 - already better than 2020!
