Pan That Palette Challenge – June 2019

I buy a lot of makeup, much more than I should. It might all be drugstore or Primark, but the sheer amount is starting to get a bit too much. Over the past few years, I have also become more environmentally conscious and really wanting to buy a lot less and maybe even hit Pan a few times.

This month I have decided to start a Pan That Palette Challenge. Firstly, I should say that this is not a new idea, and I got the idea from following loads of hashtags on Instagram – it felt like a great way to start using up some of that old, forgotten makeup before it expires. I have also decided to have a no-buy month for June (something I also did in March).

These are the 12 products I am trying to use up over the next two months;

Revolution Fast Base Foundation - F1

Revolution Fast Base Foundation – £5

This foundation is cheap and really travel friendly (I do a lot of my makeup in the car), but I can’t wait until this is finished. I have really oily skin and after a few hours it creases terribly – even when powdered down, it also clings to dry patches on my forehead. I wear the shade F1, and even that seems a bit too dark.

Revolution Fast Base Concealer - C0.5, C14.

Revolution Fast Base Concealer – £3 each

I’ve had these for about 8 months now and just completely forgot about them for the longest time. I use the shade C0.5 for concealing and C14 as a contour. A light hand is needed with these as they are pretty pigmented and dry down pretty well with minimal creasing once powdered. I feel like these are going to take forever to finish.

Primark Ps… Rice Powder

Primark Ps… Rice Powder – £?

I bought this last summer on sale for around £1 in Primark while looking for a good, cheap powder that was travel friendly. This is now discontinued and while it is a pretty good powder, I would love to try something different.

Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer - C0.5

Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer – £4

Good old faithful Conceal & Define. I actually mentioned this before in my 5 years of Revolution post. This one is actually nearly new as I mainly use it for an eyeshadow base and for a cut crease in the shade C0.5. I really don’t expect much of a difference from this in the next two months.

The Body Shop Face Contouring Palette

The Body Shop Face Contouring Palette – £?

This is yet another discontinued product and is actually something I bought a backup for in the Body Shop sale at Christmas. I really wish they still made this or even just blush, bronze, contour and highlighter refills to go in the refillable slots, although I can add their eyeshadows to this when I’m done. I’m guessing that the bronzer shade is going to be first to hit pan, as I sometimes use this as a transition shade on my eyes.

Sleek Solstice Highlighter Palette

Sleek Solstice Highlighter Palette – £9.99

Probably my favourite highlighter palette in the whole world. Having got this for Christmas 2017 and using it to death, I am still yet to hit pan. Unfortunately this palette contains Carmine so is not vegan. I do have Cleopatras Kiss in my stash (Christmas 2018) which seems to be okay.

The Body Shop The Night Is Mine Palette

The Body Shop The Night Is Mine Palette – £?

I bought this palette in the outlet sale last summer. Originally it came with a very pigmented pink lipstick in the bottom left corner. After sticking my finger in it one too many times, I decided to replace it with a yellow eyeshadow calling my name. Not really used any of these much, as they tend to go kinda muddy by the end of the day.

MUA Eyeshadow Palette - Colour Burst

MUA Eyeshadow Palette Colour Burst – £5

This really vibrant palette is a complete bargain at just £5! I got this in the Mua festival pack and was absolutely blown away. The products themselves are kinda chalky and not as good quality as some of the bigger brands out there. Works well with a good brush and base product (Conceal & Define). Don’t think the black shade will be used much, though.

Revolution Opulence Eyeshadow Compact

Revolution Opulence Eyeshadow Compact – £8

I have a love/hate relationship with this compact. I love the size, the colours, the luxury feel – but it doesn’t love me. The creasing is probably the worst I have had with any Revolution product. I’m persevering, and with a light hand it is still usable. I’m really working on the left hand side of the pan, but I don’t have much faith in me ever finishing this one.

E.L.F. Liquid Eyeshadow - Rose Gold

E.L.F Liquid Eyeshadow Rose Gold – £5

And we have another product that doesn’t seem to exist anymore. I really like using this as a base for similar colour powder eyeshadow. This is probably about half used up so there might be a little bit of progress with this one.

Barry M. Holographic Lip Topper - Spellbound

Barry M. Holographic Lip Topper Spellbound – £4.99

And finally we have my everyday lip gloss. Wearing a removable brace, coloured lipstick is pretty much a no go on a daily basis, so this is perfect. It’s not sticky and is so easy to apply. I use it all the time but it never seems to look used.

And that’s it, all the items I will be trying to use up over the next two months. I have high hopes for finishing the foundation stick in that time, and maybe hitting pan on one of the powder products. I’ll be posting next month with my progress so don’t forget to come back for that.
