Primark Ps… Fake It Mascara – Review

Looks pretty familiar, doesn’t it? You could be forgiven for thinking that at first glance you’re looking at the £19 Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, but no, this is £2.50 and from the high street favourite Primark.

Primark Ps… Fake It Mascara.

The packaging is what can only be described as luxury. Once again I would pretty much call it a dupe for Too Faced. The almost brushed feeling to the pink metallic is a nice effect and makes it feel like a quality product.

Onto the actual mascara. This is definitely not a Vegan mascara (unlike the one I assume it is trying to dupe), and honestly I have no idea if this is even Vegetarian. Checking it through a Vegan/Vegetarian product checker it appears to be probably suitable for Vegetarians, unfortunately there is no way to find this out for definite. Primark products are Cruelty Free and carry the Leaping Bunny logo.

Here’s a list of the ingredients:

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Glyceryl Stearate, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Tribehenin, Paraffin, Stearic Acid, Acacia Senegal Gum, Butylene Glycol, Palmitic Acid, Aminomethyl Propanol, Phenoxyethanol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Panthenol, Potassium Sorbate, Dimethicone, Polyester-4, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Nitrate, Glyoxal, Tocopherol, CI 77499 (Iron Oxides).

Primark Ps… Fake It Mascara - Wand.

The wand is yet another dupe for Too Faced and is absolutely top quality for something so cheap. Having tested sooooo many Mascaras I kind of feel that the brush is equally as important as the product inside. If the brush is rubbish or just holds way too much liquid, then it just becomes to difficult to use.

This wand is easy to use, in this awesome hourglass shape that works perfectly, holds just the right amount of product – and most importantly, it doesn’t smudge all over my upper eyelid (something I personally really hate!).

Primark Ps… Fake It Mascara - Testing - Before & After.

No smudging or breaking off into little flecks, the mascara is a deep, dark and true black colour. It lifts and lengthen the lashes, but does make them look slightly clumpy. This isn’t something I mind and it does add to that false eyelashes look it’s trying to give.

I was really impressed with the look. The effect is not quite as lifting and lengthening as The Mascara Revolution but this doesn’t do that really annoying thing of flaking onto your cheeks halfway through the day. I’d say the effect is probably most similar to the Rodial Glamolash Mascara XXL, but at £21.50 cheaper.

Would I buy this mascara again? 100% yes!!! It’s natural enough to be worn day to day and lasts really well, although I probably would go a bit less heavy handed on the bottom lashes than I did in these pictures.

BTW – did I mention that it’s bloomin’ £2.50!!!
